A wall mount radar presence sensor with a LD2412 that gets directly attached to the Wemos D1 Mini Esp32. EspHome and Home Assistant recommended. Fitting yaml is provided as txt (restriction from printables).

Instructions:

  • bend the pins of the LD2412 on the side with the 3 pins (out, gnd, 5V) slightly as shown in the photo
  • put the LD2412 board on the D1 Mini (see photos). The bent pins go in IO16, GND and VCC, the pins of the other side go in IO34, TMS, NC and SD2. The board is not exactly aligned to the Esp32, this is intended
  • solder the pins
  • shorten the excess length of the pins
  • place the assembly in the case (see photos)
  • screw or glue the back plate of the case to the wall
  • clip the case with the inserted assembly to the back plate
  • add it to Home Assistant with the provided yaml via EspHome

The back plate has some holes in case you want to power it from the back via pins, so no cable is visible.
